Currently Airing Anime

Eh, I couldn’t give any less of a shit about Fate, or TYPE-MOON for that matter. Nasu seems like a fun guy, but I can’t stand his writing unless Kotomine’s on screen.

Is Jojo any good? I know its pretty popular on /a/ and reddit, but I never bothered to seriously try it.

I’m just a sucker for Sakura, so that’s why I’m hyped for the Fate anime, even if they don’t turn out to be as high quality as UBW.

I personally think JoJo is pretty good! A lot of the fans, particularly the older ones, can get up in arms over their favorites, but it’s a really fun series. A lot of the Japanese VAs for JoJo voiced Umineko characters (Rudolph’s VA voiced a character in the games, Kyrie’s VA voiced a character in the anime, Ange’s VA voiced another red-head child in the last JoJo anime, and Battler and Jotaro Kujo have the same VA.) It starts off relatively tame and gets weirder as time goes on, but that’s part of the charm to it, especially when the characters have some sort of connection to Western music (like the guy who’s getting an OVA is connected to Heaven’s Door, and there is man, honest to god, named REO Speedwagon, to list a couple). To me, it was one of the few series that came out in 2016 that didn’t ultimately disappoint me, so I recommend it!

Well, we’ve all read Umineko here. Don’t think you get much weirder than that.
Guess I’ll check it out.

So it’s been a week since I finished Devilman Crybaby and I’m still soooo not over it… Guess it’s my newest fandom… I’ve been listening to Devilman no Uta every day ever since I finished.

I really loved how fresh it was (even if the source material is from the 70s), I’ve been meh over recent anime but this reaally made me go back to full on anime mode.

Watching over 1000 anime over the years will do that to you… I just can’t really handle too much Slice of Life anymore. STARES AT YOU POKEMONSUNMOON

I wish I could recommend it to everyone, but yeah I know it isn’t for everyone’s tastes.

I’m already on my third watch… already bought official merch… I read the manga afterwards to see how it was like.

yeap i’m in deep

Glad to hear that Devilman Crybaby is good. I haven’t touched it yet, but definetely looking forward to the experience. I’ve read the manga several years ago, and it was awesome. Go Nagai at his best. It’s very interesting to see, how Masaaki Yuasa handled his work.

Yeah I just finished my third watch last night. xD

I watched the OVAs back in 2011 and read the Amon Manga after that. Though I never did read the original until now OOPS.

The series made me interested in more of Masaaki Yuasa’s work so I’ll be watching more from them for my anime challenge.

I practically never watch anime.

That said I might get a Crunchyroll sub or feed off of several guest passes somewhere down the line, Pop Team Epic is fucking hilarious + I got started on JoJo + Junji Ito Collection is cool.

I rarely watch anime now days, but I started watching Violet Evergarden and I have been enjoying it so far. It’s really clam and heartwarming anime, even with the dark themes that are part of it in the back.

  • The new Devilman Crybaby was pretty good. It was nice to see my old favorite reincarnated with breath of fresh air. The
modern version is a good interaction to the Devilman series for the new fans. Its not the best that there is, but its not bad either.

Junji Ito Collection has been a bit hit-and-miss for me and the friend I’m watching it with, but Pop Team Epic has been quite a unique experience, to say the least. Also hope you enjoy the journey through Jojo’s Wacky World potential fellow Zero Escape fan

Started watching Sora yori mo Tooi Basho (A Place Further Than The Universe).

I have to say, it feels quite refreshing. The characters feel realistic, their interactions are great and the premise is quite fun. It resembles a slice-of-life anime, and yet at the same time it is more than that because there is actual progress and development after each episode, and the ultimate goal of the characters promises that the story could develop into something even greater than it is now.

It’s an original anime by studio Madhouse, so no risk of being spoiled by manga or light novel readers. The art style is adorable and I am simply enjoying the overall feel of this anime.
