Itâs really funny, I feel like the adults are the best characters of Umineko. I love them all so much! Iâd probably rank them something like Kyrie>Rosa>Eva>Natsuhi>Hideyoshi>Rudolf>Krauss
But couplewise Iâd rank it Kyrie and Rudolf>Rosa>Eva and Hideyoshi>Krauss and Natsuhi

Gotta love Kyrie and Rudolf. Probably the maddest bastards there, but I just cant help but love them. Especially Kyrie, shes got one of my favorite voice actors so that helps things a lot.

Kyrie is pretty 10 out of 10, especially if you buy into the theory that she knew she was going to die (such as her gun being jammed) so she played up her hatred of Ange to make Eva adopt her out of sympathy. Such a logical thinker, right to the very end.
Rosa and Eva are the best. Natsuhi and Rudolf are also good.

Honestly I am a bit surprised by how well-liked Krauss and Natsuhi appear to be, I always thought of them as just some characters that donât get much attention, but oh well, it probably goes to show how little I know about the fandom. I do admit though, that they are interesting characters and definitely some of the most well-meaning ones in Umineko.
Why is the vote about couples? 
My favorite Adult is Natsuhi. I just love her. Since Episode 1⌠One of the main reasons Ep 1 is one of my fav episodes. But when the votes are as couples, my vote has to be Rudolf and Kyrie. Especially Kyrie, obviously

Ehh, I really like both Rudolf and Kyrie and Eva and Hideyoshi. Iâm so torn, but I went with Eva and Hideyoshi, partially because they are underdogs. I love Natsuhi too of course, but if we are talking couples I donât think they were the best one honestly. And Rosa⌠Well, I like her I guess⌠as a character at least.

It was very close between the three couples ! I love them all as characters, and although of course theyâre a huge mess I chose Krauss and Natsuhi. Natsuhi gets so much thrown at her (particularly from Eva which was a reason I didnât choose her), and Krauss gave us the wonderful moon tourism. Kyrie and Rudolf I never really liked, and less as the episodes progressed. Rosa isnât even an option because I absolutely detest her for how she treats Maria.

Oh boy. Very tough choice betweenn Kraus and Natsuhi (I love Natsuhi!) and Eva and Hideyoshi (I love Eva!). Ultimately, I went with the former option as Hideyoshi is not really a developed character. And besides, that scene in ep 5 between Krauss and Natsuhi was one of the sweetest in the entire series. <3
Rosa is too much of a train wreck for me and Kyrie and Rudolf have such a dangerous air around them that I do not dare approach.

I chose Eva and Hideyoshi. Despite the way Eva interacts with some characters, I think she really does mean well for George, and sheâs almost the mother I wished I had.

I like them all so itâs a tough choice. Hideyoshi is as close as any adult in the game gets to being both a model parent, husband and (presumably) employer. Krauss is a (fun) buffoon whose heart is in the right place when push comes to shove. Rudolf is fun. Natsuhi somehow remains relatively sane, responsible and in her own way dignified despite all the shits she has to deal with.
If I have to pick one though it got to be between Eva, Rosa and Kyrie. In the first half Kyrie is a consistently level-headed, understanding and generally cool adult. In the second half she makes for an excellent short-term villain. Rosa somehow manages to be sympathetic despite her relationship with Maria and unlike the other adults she really doesnât have anyone fall back on when sheâs at her breaking point. That and sheâs badass as hell. Yeah they were fantasy scenes but screw it the ending to Episode 2 was one of the coolest thing in the entire story. Eva manages to make the best of her situation through sheer competence and determination and she earned what little happiness she got out of the story. I voted Rosa since I expected her to have the least votes but really it could have been anyone between the three.

Like a lot of the other replies, I was torn between Kyrie and Eva, along with their respective husbands. In the end, I have to give it to Kyrie and Rudolf. Kyrie especially really came off as a clever, resourceful person and seeing her in action was a joy to watch.

Couple-wise, Eva and Hideyoshi have quite literally the healthiest relationship between them, since their marriage is healthy, itâs just Eva whoâs⌠got issues. To me, Kyrie and Rudolf have quite a fascinating relationship, that one could say is like Macbeth and Lady Macbeth (without the Lady Macbeth becoming less important part).
I like Eva the most of the adults, followed by Kyrie, Rudolf, Rosa, and then Krauss. I wish Hideyoshi was expanded upon more, so I could rank him. And frankly, Natsuhi reminds me too much of certain people in my life I canât stand (and her Stans are so annoying that I feel bad for the people who are her fans and donât excuse what she did).

Krauss can be a bit of a jerk, but he at least shows some remorse for how he acted toward his siblings in the past, he gets an epic scene in Episode 4 (yes, that one) and itâs honestly adorable how much of an idiot he can be with business decisions plus Krauss x Natsuhi is super sweet, and Natsuhiâs not so bad, attitutde toward servants aside.
Hideyoshiâs a pretty cool guy, true, he doesnât get much character development but I like his cheery attitude. Eva can be pretty harsh as a mother though you can understand why and her perserverance is admirable. She genuinely does care about her husband and son and that really shows.
My vote goes to Eva and Hideyoshi.

For me is completely Rosa, my feelings towards her since the episode 2 are totally disproportionate. But Kyrie and Rudolf are also an incredible couple. Kyrie is such a exciting character, i donât know if her is a horrible parent or a nice parent.

Itâs so hard to choose between them because theyâre all so wonderfully complex and I have such a hard time deciding between Eva & Hideyoshi and Kyrie & Rudolf. But in the end I like Kyrie and Rudolf a bit more, probably because Hideyoshi got comparably little characterisation compared to Rudolf.
Theyâre both such fascinating characters with Rudolf as the sleazy cheater who still has a heart of gold and loves his family while Kyrie is an incredibly intelligent woman whoâs darker side make it difficult for judge if sheâs someone to admire or someone to fear.

I love love love loooooove Natsuhi so much, I feel so sad for her sometimes just because of her situations and all her ailments - must protect Natsuhi. I donât think Krauss is a bad guy and I definitely think his heart is in the right place but I sometimes get really mad/upset at his lack of comfort to Natsuhi, though I know the things going on make that a bit difficult, probably. But man, Natsuhi is suuuuch a wonderful character. I really do wish her the best. She tries to hard to protect the honor and the dignity of the family, even after Kinzoâs death. She seriously makes me so sad and happy at the same time, because sheâs basically treated like shit by Eva and it makes me feel really bad because of how seriously Natushi takes the One-Winged Eagle and the honor of the family, even though sheâs treated no better than a stray dog sometimes. Sheâs incredibly strong - Iâll always root for Natsuhi!!
Eva, too. I think sheâs probably one of the happiest adults, and her marriage to Hideyoshi also seems to be the healthiest compared to the other members of the family. I think the way she raises George to be the best he can be and does everything she can do for his sake is really beautiful, too. I wish my parents had been like that with me, haha. The only thing I donât particularly like is her trying to put a strain on Georgeâs relationship with Shannon. Just because she thinks her and Hideyoshi finding George a spouse is the best thing for him stability wise doesnât necessarily mean itâs the best for him in terms of a happy resolution. But with that said, with the way Eva tends to everything else to raise George to be the best he can be, and to have the most rewarding life he can have, it doesnât surprise me at all that she dislikes the idea of George being with Shannon. Hideyoshi is a wonderful guy, too. A model father, in my opinion. He seems very happy go lucky and because of the way his personality seems to change the atmosphere, I think heâs exactly the type of guy Eva needs in her life. So even if the two of them (mainly Eva) sorta try to do too much for George, I think they make a great couple and family overall.
I donât know how I feel about Rudolf, though. I felt so bad for Kyrie upon knowing about her years of envy and suffering. Iâve admired some guys who were total players, and who gave me false hope, so I know how that shit stings. I think Kyrie is very admirable for wanting to be with Rudolf despite that and doing everything she can to achieve it. I canât say any amount of effort or tests or trials would work if that situation were replicated outside of Umineko, thoughâŚ
Rosa, oh god. I canât even say for sure if I like her or not, based on the way she treats Maria. I know thereâs some sort of stigma about single women with a child in Japan, or something, but I donât think thatâs an excuse at all for her actions. At the same time, I hope she does find a guy who treats her right and accepts Maria. I really donât know if I like or dislike Rosa⌠but my god, I was completely destroyed over Maria still seeing Rosa in a good light despite everything, and just passing off abusive Rosa as the bad witch. Itâs so heart breaking! Even if Maria made her days happier with magic, itâs still horrible that she had to use that magic to write over the bad events she was trying not to see. My heart goes out to Maria.
Kinzo⌠well, huh. I guess after reading EP5 and starting EP6, I can sort of understand where his insane devotion comes from. On one hand, I really do think he must have seriously, seriously loved Beatrice. But on the other, it doesnât justify his actions. I donât think Kinzo is a bad person at all, though. At least not in his younger days.
Nanjo seems like a grandpa kinda guy, really easy going. I donât think the story delves deep enough into his life, but if I had to say anything about Nanjo, he seems like the kinda guy who would be great to have around for light hearted discussions.
I donât think I can pick a favorite, honestly. This is too hard. I may have gotten carried away. Whoops.

Honestly i canât decide between Eva and Natsuhi. Eva was always my favorite for her snark and independent attitude, but on a reread Iâm finding Natsuhi to be an especially interesting character, given her relationship with Kinzo. She seems to depend on the approval of the head of the family so much for her daily activities, and in many ways is the leader of the household due to both Kinzoâs inactivity and Kraussâ preoccupation with his business ventures.
I find it difficult to pick favourite characters, especially in a story like this where really everyone gets time in the spotlight some degree, and every one of them feels âhumanâ to me. With the way the narrative is structured too we get to see both the good and the bad of all of the characters depending on how the twilights play out. I think thatâs why i like them though, I like villains even more than I like heroes, and villains doing wrong things for the right reasons always draws me in. The fact that we get to see all of the adults as both heroes and villains (sometimes flashing from one to the other in a matter of minutes) is why I find them so damn compelling.

Most of them are amazing characters, but the women here outshine men.
Personally, I couldnât help but love and sympathize with Rosa despite her clear shortcomings. Her (and Mariaâs) story was pretty damn heart-wrenching. She had nobody to lean on and her family were a bunch of selfish d**ks, not excluding the crappy husband-to-be whose existence served to torment her. Among the inheritors, she was the only person who desired her share of the inheritance for a noble purpose. Namely, paying the debt and starting over as a better mother.
Rosaâs been deteriorating and her relationship with Maria worsened as her inexcusable abuses increased, but she didnât completely âchooseâ to be that way, and she had an awareness of her problems which she was intent on solving them. Finally, the word âgodawfulâ doesnât begin to describe how bad her luck is, having harbored a traumatic guilt for accidentally causing 2nd Beatriceâs death and keeping it secret when all she did was give Beatrice a sense of freedom. Then goes on to endure hearing her mad father and defiant daughter bring her name up over and over again? Thatâs all sorts of f***d up. Her kindness was answered by misfortune, used and often ridiculed and mocked by her partner and own family.
Morally speaking, Iâd rank them as follows:
Hideyoshi > Rosa = Krauss > Natsuhi = Eva > Kyrie = Rudolf
Most interesting couples:
Rudolf/Kyrie > Hideyoshi/Eva = Krauss/Natsuhi > Rosa/A-hole-partner
Favorites:
Rosa > Eva > Kyrie > Rudolf = Natsuhi > Hideyoshi = Krauss
