In what format do you own 07th works?

As the title says.

Do you have steam releases or Manga gamer copies of Higurashi/Umineko? Did you import the Japanese games and patch them? Did you pirate them? ((Please don’t link to piracy sites here.))

I personally pirated Umineko and Umineko Chiru first. Read up until EP2 before I was hooked, and then I purchased and imported Umineko and Umineko Chiru discs to pay my piece, as I should. I play the game with the original sprites and Witch Hunt’s translation, however I also have Umitweak on my back burner of how I would like to read Umineko next. I have EP 1/2 of the manga, as well.
I plan on purchasing the Steam release as soon as I can, too. As far as Higurashi goes, I have the anime. But not Kai.

What about you guys?

Let’s see… I started with the Higurashi Visual Novel, and would watch each arc in anime form after I finished them. At that time, the anime was unlicensed, so I didn’t watch it legally… I had Onikakushi free, on my Kindle, but I had to buy the other arcs. After that, I made sure to buy everything I could. I own digital copies of most of the games, but I also own the anime and manga adaptations. I like being able to experience the story in as many formats as possible.

For Higurashi, I have every English released volume up to Minagoroshi and the Saikoroshi volume, a big pack of the Higurashi DVD collection and the DVD solo that had the end of Meakashi and the start of Tsumihoroboshi. I bought the Steam copy of Tatarigoroshi, and on my iPad, I have the App store version of Onikakushi.

For Umineko, I have the official manga omnibuses starting with Banquet to the last volume of End (since I’m apprehensive about paying omnibus price for something that’s only one volume even if Erika’s on the cover), and I want to get the later Chiru volumes but ran out of book store money because I had to buy somebody something expensive they read only once. I also won one of the site’s copies of the Umineko Steam release (thank you so much!).

I only have the steam releases of Umineko and Higurashi (just purchased Watangashi & Tatarigoroshi)… I don’t own any others but I think I’ll buy the manga only chapters of Higurashi. Maybe sometime in the future I will buy the anime if I have the opportunity.

I forgot to add I have Umineko EP1 and 2 in manga format, as well as Higurashi anime DVD. Not Kai though.

I added these things to the first post.

Higurashi: PS3, Mangagamer Physical Copies, Steam, DVDs (Geneon), Bluray (Sentai). Mangawise - Onikakushi, Vol 2 of Watanagashi, Yoigoshi, Minagoroshi, Kataribanashi, and some Case Story Anthologies.

Umineko: Steam, Some volumes of EP7 & EP8 manga as well as a magazine with the EP2 tea party, and Vol 2 DVD Limited Edition of the anime.

My brain must’ve been dead yesterday because I keep forgetting things. Forgive me for posting for a third time.

Higurashi: Complete Series anime DVD. Doesn’t include Kai. ((I’ve only watched maybe 3 episodes of the anime.))

Umineko: CDs of the Umineko games ((Umineko + Chiru)), the anime ((which I can’t even watch due to region incompatibility hhha ;; uuu )), EP1/2 of the manga, the first book of EP6 ((and the first book of EP5 to send to my best friend.)) I also have a Lion…promo poster? I’m not too sure what it is.

I have Higurashi for the PS2, the Japanese import CD-roms, and the MangaGamer Steam release. I have most of the manga for Higurashi in official Japanese release. I also have the anime as it has been released by Sentai.

For Umineko I only have the Mangagamer Steam releases and the Yen Press release of the manga.

My usual policy when I obtain games is that, if I can’t buy it digitally, I buy a physical copy of the game first, then pirate it. That way I can technically say that I legally own it.

For Higurashi and Umineko, though, I’ve been pretty lucky. I own the MG version of Onikakushi-hen thanks to a generous donation from another forum member, although since then I’ve been aiming to purchase the Steam releases of Higurashi’s chapters, so the inconsistency bothers me. Umineko was also a gift, except it was purchased off Steam.

My future plans include buying a physical copy of Rose Guns Days in order to read the English patch, unless a Steam release gets announced. Same goes for TRianThology, as soon as an English patch gets done. :3

I own mangagamer releases of Higurashi and disk copies of Umineko. Digital distrubtion of the Higurashi anime and the BluRay collector set of the Umineko anime. Print versions of all the manga published in English so far, and a few that I bought through Google Play with points from Opinion Rewards. I own one CD set that I got autographed (you&History), but I am guilty of pirating the heck out of some When They Cry music. Just because the import cost is kinda absurd.
