Rokkenjima Secret Oyashiro I [Finished - Progressive Victory]

I think you misunderstand. The goal of the game is to convince everyone you are one of the progressives, and not an informed extremist. As long as you are proven to be progressive, people should be able to rest assured that there are no falsehoods in your statements and you can be trusted to push progressive policies forward.

And your other main goal as a progressive is to determine who your allies are. Knowing whose word can be trusted is the key to pushing progressive policies and victory. Right now @DaBackpack and @Yerian are the most trustworthy, and you and @Rabla are the least.

The only benefit a progressive might have for withholding information is if they are trying to manipulate the extremists. But any attempts made to hide the truth will be seen as strong evidence that you are an extremist and have something to hide.

Thatā€™s a good way of thinking. I also want to know if I can trust your words. If we manage to enact a second progressive policy, we have 4 trustworthy people. That would push us progressives in a really good position. So, of course, it would be an honor for me to work with you and make this happen.

Necem seems pretty understanding. Iā€™d like him to be my chancellor, so I can know where his allegiance lies. Any objections before I make it final?

Not necessarily an ojection, but rather some perspective. While itā€™d be good to know the allegiance of most people, if you want to win the fastest way, wouldnā€™t it be a good idea to elect people proven to be trustworthy? You yourself already mentioned Yerian and DaBackpack.

Of course, itā€™s still early and thereā€™s still a lot of leeway for risk. But if you wanna get the best outcome the quickest way, wellā€¦ Thereā€™s always an easy way out

(As you can see I have gotten way too lazy to play ā€œin characterā€ now so Iā€™m just gonna stop lol)

So in other words, which do we value more? Information or progress?

That does seem the crux of the matter, yes. You are the president, after all, and have the freedom to make that decision. Just giving another train of thought that others may not have explored yet.

Iā€™ve come to the conclusion that taking a risk at this juncture is the best option. Besides, that investigation is too appealing to pass on if I fail.

I nominate @Necem as chancellor.

Well that was comfortably quick.

Voting Phase

@Yerian@EisenKoubu@Aspirety@Rabla@Pepe@DaBackpack@cjlim2007@Sapphire@Necem

Since our presidential candidates has chosen a chancellor, itā€™s time for everyone to vote.

President: Aspirety
Chancellor: Necem

Do you trust these two to represent you and the entire village of Hinamizawa and enact a policy on your behalf? Please PM your votes directly to me.

Quick and clean is the way this should be. We can play the drawn out blame game later, these first few rounds should be snappy.

Necem truly seems like a very understanding and mature member of our council and I think they were a good choice for the position of chancellor, Aspirety. I may be wrong though, of course, but only time will tell and the same goes for Aspirety, too.

simple and clean is the way that youā€™re making me feel tonight

itā€™s hard to let it go

The vote has concluded. The government was unanimously accepted! Amazing! What could possibly go wrong?

Government Phase

Well after such a magnificent vote, naturally the government will pick whateverā€™s in the villageā€™s best interest, right?

Aspirety and Necem, you two may not post in this topic until the government phase has concluded.

Gather round, members of the council! The government has made their choice, a new policy has been enacted!

ā€œVillagers are free to choose for themselves whether they wish to attend the annual Watanagashi festival. Participation is no longer mandatory.ā€

Half the council members present let out a sigh of relief. It seems mandatory Watanagashi partcipitation had been quite a bane in the eyes of many for some time now, and yet nobody had had the courage to bring it up and change it until now.

Naturally, a policy that respects personal freedoms over forced unity is definitely a progressive policy.

Election Phase

@Rabla, you are the current presidential candidate, please nominate a chancellor. Do note that Aspirety and Necem cannot be nominated as chancellors since they were part of the previous government. Feel free to take your time and discuss the results of the previous government phase with your fellow council members, but once youā€™ve made up your mind regarding a chancellor, please state their name in bold. We will then start the voting.

Excellent. Hopefully this will help the others trust us a little more.

@Necem, for now you have earned my trust. Please donā€™t break my heart later, okay?

As for the next chancellorā€¦ I nominate @Yerian. Heā€™s definitely the most trustworthy member of the potential candidates.

Well, that was fairly quick. Iā€™m personally surprised with people voting unanimously on ā€œyes.ā€ Maybe they were just as willing to try out for new information as @Aspirety wasā€¦

Or maybe his confrontation of @cjlim2007 last round scared us all. After all, none of us would want to be the odd one out, would we? Lest it raises suspicion on any one of us.

Well, as for next round, itā€™s all up to @Rabla this time. My proposition still stands: that he can play it safe and choose someone he thinks will enact the sort of policy he would like, or that he can test out the waters and choose @Sapphire who hasnā€™t had the chance yet to participate.

Are you sure youā€™re content with leaving it up to Rablaā€™s discretion, though?

And, of course, good job to @Aspirety and @Necem for enacting a progressive policy! Might I ask, what policies did you discard and what policies were you given? While I do have no reason to trust your word 100%, information always helps!

Well, he was involved with the last bout of affairs, after all. So while he has some power on the outcome of this bout, ultimately, the decision lies with the chancellor (unless, of course, he gets at least two radical policies).

But, to be fair, the outcome of this bout would not really help us figure out rablaā€™s alignment. If a radical policy comes into play, it could be rablaā€™s fault, or the chancellorā€™s fault. If a progressive policy comes into play, then rabla could have helped push for it.

I was given two radical and one progressive policy, and discarded a radical.
