But yeah, I understand your feelings Hanyuu. I first read Higurashi roughly five years ago at this point, but never really found a place to talk about it. Most VN sites are focused on the newer releases. I always found it kinda sad that 07th Expansion kinda got overshadowed by other VNs (which are good too, but 07th Expansion has a special place in my heart). I was elated when I heard Higurashi and Umineko were going to be rereleased for Steam, as I think the rereleases will help these VNs reach a wider audience. The crew here at Rokkenjima is incredibly passionate about 07th Expansion, and it’s nice to see the newbies try to solve the mysteries that make these visual novels so special. It’s also fun for the veterans to reread everything and realize the clues that they didn’t even know about in the first place.
