I had a blast, was up all night and participated in karaoke for the first time. I strained my voice at one point over singing Divina Tragedia and jammed a bit on my kazoo. Disappointing Goat-kun (the music bot) kept bugging out and skipping Taishou A and when it finally did start to play my throat was too worn out to sing it as well as I would have liked. I finally got to play 100% Orange Juice and even though I couldn’t win any of the matches and it felt like the game was working against me, I still had fun and wanted to continue playing and I hope my losses entertained everyone as much as it did to me. There was some small negatives like that throughout the night, but even those memories are precious because people could still laugh over it, so that’s still a plus for me.
“Hasta la vista”. Shoutout to Yen Press for giving me a new phrase for me to leave with and carry on the fun memories I had here, even if my time here was somewhat brief. And I think it’s an excellent phrase for us to leave with, since it comes from young Battler and Ange’s English line “see you again”. It’s a farewell to Rokkenjima, but for us fans that joined it’s an HASTA LA VISTA to each other. When Ryukishi releases something new or another of his works is translated, maybe that is when we will meet again.
