Rokkenjima Secret Oyashiro I [Finished - Progressive Victory]

whens time limits

Recommended time is 24 hours but thereā€™s no real limit so as long as someone hasnā€™t voted yet, the game wonā€™t go on

Okay so this isnā€™t working out well. Iā€™ll have to impose a time limit for votes from now on. From now on votes are on a time limit of 48 hours. If I happen to be late in tallying the votes and you still submit your vote after the time limit is up, thatā€™s fair game, itā€™s only a guideline anyways. But if the time limit passes and your vote has not yet been received by me, your vote will not be counted towards the totals. Votes only pass when more than 50% of votes are YES, so the amount of necessary YES votes may end up lower than usual.

Since weā€™re already past the 48 hour time limit, Iā€™ll extend it by 6 hours. That means voting closes in 5 hours from now.

I think 36 hours would be fine.

The vote has concluded! Here are the results:

With 6 votes for and 2 against, the vote goes through!

Government Phase

Our new government has once again the obligation of leading Hinamizawa. Let us pray that their choice is in the best interest of the entire village.

Pepe and Sapphire, you two may not post in this topic until the government phase has concluded.

@Yerian@EisenKoubu@Aspirety@Rabla@Pepe@DaBackpack@cjlim2007@Sapphire@Necem

Gather round, members of the council! The government has made their choice, a new policy has been enacted!

ā€œEvery villager is granted the right to hold any spiritual beliefs they themselves believe in.ā€

This is certainly a clear progressive message. With just one more push, the radical believers in Oyashiro may just lose the opportunity to push their own agendas foreverā€¦

Current game status

Radical policies played: 1
Progressive policies played: 4!
Next presidential privilege unlocked by radical policy: Investigation
Previous government: Pepe and Sapphire
Remaining policies in stock: 2!

Election Phase

@DaBackpack, you are the current presidential candidate, please nominate a chancellor. Do note that Pepe and Sapphire cannot be nominated as chancellors since they were part of the previous government. Feel free to take your time and discuss the results of the previous government phase with your fellow council members, but once youā€™ve made up your mind regarding a chancellor, please state their name in bold. We will then start the voting.

Only one more progressive policy needs to be enacted before the progressive side instantly wins! Looks like things are going absolutely swimminglyā€¦ right?

Well done @Pepe and @Sapphire. Iā€™m amazed things are going so smoothly.

As per protocol, would you mind telling us what cards you received?

Gread job @pepe and @Sapphire!

I have the feeling that I wonā€™t even get the chance to be president. But well, no complaints here.

@DaBackpack letā€™s finish this game!

Well, Iā€™m lost. Iā€™m not sure how to play this game anymore. throws away notes

But still, this is a ray of hope. Assuming @DaBackpack is a progressive, we may just have this cat in the bag. I canā€™t wait to tell my loli niece the good news.

In case youā€™re having trouble picking a chancellor, @DaBackpack, I nominate @Aspirety. I believe he is our best bet.

By the way, we have burned through 15 of the 17 total policies, so after the next government is elected, the stock is reshuffled. Which right now consists of 10 radical policies and 2 progressive policies.

Edit (Iā€™m the game master, Iā€™m allowed to edit!): I suppose I should say ā€œwill consist ofā€, since itā€™s still possible the two remaining policies will come into play. As you know, if votes fail three times in a row, the topmost policy is enacted immediately. For that reason, the stock is only shuffled as soon as a vote succeeds (because then we need more policies than are available).

Did you expect any less from us, guys? Anyhow, I got both a radical and a progressive policy and discarded the latter, which does reveals what Pepe pretty much got really, either 2 radical policies and a progressive one or 2 progressive ones and a radical one. Now, if he is a beloved radical, he would discard the progressive policy and trick me by giving me two radical ones, but then again, he could have discarded a radical one and if I would enact the progressive policy, he would get to use the Investigation ability, which would be especially helpful if he happens to be Oyashiro. Or if he is a progressive, he discarded one radical policy of course. Anyways, it was nice working with you, @Pepe, but whether I trust you yet or notā€¦ why donā€™t you make like Oyashiro and try to find out for yourself if Iā€™m your ally?

Oh. I wasnā€™t expecting that honestly. I wonder where all the radicals wentā€¦ I nominate @Yerian because if we go back to the same people, I highly doubt that the radicals are so sneaky sneaky that they were present to begin with. @Aspirety is a good second choice though

Seconded, I nominate @Yerian as well, he was the first president and has not been active for the most part, thus Iā€™d like to gather more information on him. And I canā€™t trust him yet of course, since he only has taken indirect desicions thus far. Also I agree about the radicals too, they are making this game pretty dullā€¦

Is there really any need to gather more information at this point? If we are able to enact one more progressive policy the progressives win. The best course of action now would be to choose the most trustworthy person of us and let him be chancellor. I think either @Aspirety or @cjlim2007 would be the best choice.

Alright so! First things first I am absolutely glad that Sapphire voted for the progressive side. Not onlu does it help push for this policy, but it strengthwns my trust in them

As for what policies I drew? I drew two progressive and one radical policy. I discarded the progressive policy.
But pepeeeeee why would you even think to discard a progressive policy?

Hear me out, okay? Honestly, when I got my draw, I was pretty ecstatic. Who wouldnā€™t be? This is a guaranteed progressive enactment, should I discard the radical policy. Frankly, I was already in the middle of typing my reply to karifean, saying I would discard the radical policy, when I thought: ā€œIs this really is the best thing to do?ā€

See, I enacted Sapphire as my chancellor for one main purpose: information gathering. I have no idea what Sapphireā€™s alignment is. If I gave her two progressive policies, what would that tell me about her alignment? Absolutely nothing.

Thus, I decided to add a little risk in this round. Since we are leading, I felt that it wouldnā€™t hurt much to test the waters. I gave Sapphire the choice of either a progressive or radical policy, just so I could see what they would choose. Naturally, if they chose a radical policy, that would bring suspicion on to me. But that would at least tell me that she is, with high likelihood, a radical.

Butā€¦ A progressive policy was enabled. At this point, I have no reason to doubt that Sapphire is a fellow progressive. My risk paid off, and I have one more person that I can trust. Well, not wholly, but to a large extent.

A rousing speech. Usually, the fact that you freely admitted to discarding a positive policy would be good reason to trust you.

But flipping the chessboard over, that could be exactly what you want, so maybe you are a radical.

Well, weā€™ll find out soon :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry, Iā€™m alive. Let me see whatā€™s going on

Iā€™m thinking of taking Yerian with me. Let us fight for a brighter Hinamizawa!

Yeah, Iā€™m nominating Yerian because that worked well before and we only need one more.
