The room goes quiet. It’s a radical policy. How could this have happened?

@PocketyHat, you now have the obligation to make use of your presidential privilege, Investigation. Please make a bold statement about what player you wish to investigate, I will send you their alignment (if you pick Oyashiro, you will be told they are a radical) as an undeniable red truth. You have 24 hours to pick a target.
Well I figured it would happen about now. Even with the best odds the chances of getting all radical policies was rather high. Let us wait for an explanation first before jumping to conclusions. However, I would like to go into something first.
Let us consider what kind of reasons one might let a radical decision through (this will be completely obvious but I figure we might as well get everything out there and try and work on possibilities). The first reason one might push through radical policies is that one is given no other choice. We have already calculated the odds that this might occur and it turned out to be fairly high. Now, it is also more likely that there would be at least one progressive policy but that is only if we have not been lied to by previous chancellors and presidents. Therefore the odds can only be higher that there was no option but to enact this policy.
The second reason is the most obvious: the president and/or the chancellor are radicals. They shall have to defend against this themselves and their names shall ever be in doubt because of this. Certainly they must be viewed by us lovers of Hinamizawa as suspicious but only to the extent that their actions show later in the game.
The final reason that we might conclude that a radical policy was passed is that the president and chancellor have decided that the lack of information is more dangerous than a radical policy at the moment. In other words, just as a progressive policy or two early on in the game do not really hinder the radicals, and in fact may serve their purposes, a radical policy can serve the progressives just as well by supplying them what they lack; information. As @pictoshark says we progressives don’t know who is who. A radical policy provides us with that. I am perfectly willing to let the radicals have their tiny victory if it means I know who is for or against me. Tit for tat.
In the end we shall see if the Chancellor and President agree with each other or not. I’m looking forward to their defenses.
While I wait for @Aspirety to say what policies he got, even though it’ll be a bit redundant of me to wait, but I digress, I’m gonna ask you all on who to use my ability on. Even though you might not trust me, at least help me a little so that I might possibly help you. Because I am that kind~

Also, while I do want more progressive policies to go through, it wouldn’t matter at this part of the game to rush it or not, since, even if I were to rush it, we wouldn’t have gotten anything out of talking about the last election. We still don’t know anything about each other yet.

Anyway, I’m gonna hush and wait before I say anything else.
Personally I’m inclined to ask about previous governments, particularly, as I’ve said, about the presidents. I feel like we should be able to see a little bit better the strategies at work if we know about the previous government and what really occurred.
Why would reading him actually help though? Remember, it’s president’s privilege to investigate. If they already disagree then there’s no information to be gained from that
Once again, as with last game, I don’t see much value in us dictating where @PocketyHat should use their investigative power. If they were a radical (which is quite likely at this point), they have all the reason to lie about their results. This will only serve to misdirect the rest of us progressives.
Instead, let’s try to figure out whodunit. For starters, I don’t find PocketyHat’s choice all that suspicious. Whether intended or not, the presidential choices followed a pattern: they chose the last in line going up. I voted YES because, well, it worked well so far. At least now we have somewhere to go in regards to thinking about this game.
What I do find suspicious is their reaction to the decision. PocketyHat doesn’t seem all that shocked about this outcome. In fact, they seem pretty damn calm. They feel no remorse for picking Aspirety nor insult for him potentially betraying them. That, in itself, is quite suspicious, and I can’t help but think that they had this all planned out from the start.
Investigation results are revealed only to the president right? Is there any way of confirming what they say or even who they investigated? If not, I’m not sure if invesigation helps anyone but the president.
I’m really curious what @Aspirety says. From what I understand of the game, either @Aspirety or @PocketyHat has to be a radical. With the way the system is set up and with VETO power, it doesn’t seem possible for a both progressive team to get a radical result.
The VETO power only activates when there is only one radical policy left to be played. Before that, two progressive players have no choice but to play a radical policy if three radical policies are drawn.

Unfortunately I’m still waiting for @Aspirety to at least say what policies he chose, so I can’t exactly saying anything else without his input.
…Unless people are impatient and want me to tell you all what we got. But again, I’m not gonna rush it.
However
Which is honestly an unfair mentality, why would someone as great as I just deceive you all? Granted, I do have some people in mind to investigate, @thesorceress, @Aspirety, and, for my own peace of mind, maybe @pictoshark, but that one is on my lowers priority right now.

Also, remember what I’ve said before. Don’t trust me or @Aspirety for now, since a radical policy was enacted on, so I at least will not defend myself and it’s your choice if you trust me or not. I will admit that I am a very suspicious individual at the present moment and I understand my situation. But I am pretty confident with what I did.
Honestly I don’t like you because of your stupid act of talking to yourself. Also it’s natural to not trust the president’s investigation result because it’s highly likely either the president or the chancellor’s responsibility that the radical policy is passed. Of course, there still is about a 1/3 chance of you getting triple radical policy but still… You should not be surprised if we don’t trust you.
I mean, you voted no AND were a president.
