Fair enough. Go for it.
Hmph, I think Iām going to go and slumber, unless anyone else shows impatience towards all of this.
"I am impatient!"
Shut up me.
Iām gonna just go think on my decision through, I would appreciate some more discussions between yourselves, I donāt want to hog every one of you only to myself!~
See you all peasants later!~
Oh geez. This had to happen while I was asleep and at work ^^;
Okay okay, hereās my answer!
I received two radical policies.
Sucks for me because now Iām thrown into being suspicious along with her. Itās gonna be an uphill battle for me from now on! The demonās roulette smiles upon her, a radical who followed along with the rules we designed and still managed to come out on top. I donāt believe for a second that sheās a progressive, but I understand that Iām not free from suspicion either.
However, if I were a radical, I definitely wouldāve preferred to play the long con and hide myself from suspicion. The night is young, after all. But even that opportunity wouldāve been robbed from me after receiving two radical policies, yāknow? Nothing I can do but sit here and accept it. Obviously, PocketyHat is going to turn on me and say Iām lying, but Iāll be doing everything in my power to earn your trust from here on out. That said, I understand better than anyone how difficult it is to repair a fracture in oneās trust in this game.
Not much value in an investigation power thatās used by one I am certain is a radical, of course. Itās a shame, I wouldāve really loved to learn pictosharkās alignment; he wouldāve proven to be a very powerful ally or formidable foe. But I guess you may as well use it under the assumption that Pockety is a progressive and Iām a radical; thatās the only way itāll have any value.
The possibility of three radical policies is not to be underestimated though. Maybe you both got forced to play a radical? That doesnāt clear your suspicions, but you shouldnāt be so quick to put @PocketyHat on the radical train. We will see who he investigates and what he says about them.
I propose that he investigates somebody who is yet to be in the government, to put pressure on them to act truthfully, although it doesnāt matter that much since everybody will be a part of the government again sometime.
Maybe so, but the chances are very low, so Iām choosing to believe in the more likely possibility.
Whoah now @Aspirety. Thereās no need to jump on the @PocketyHat -is-a-radical train yet. Thatās quite a leap that youāve made there my friend. Also, the lowest that the odds are for her getting 3 radical policies is about one in three. Thatās not bad odds really. And thatās assuming that none of the previous governments lied to us. I feel like it is more likely that 3 radical policies have been drawn than appears initially obvious.
I find it interesting that you say that you are sure that @pocketyhat is a radical and is going to blame you for everything, even though he said nothing about that. You donāt even see the possibility that he received 3 radical policies and had no choice.
You also were a player in the last game, Iām sure you know that there is still the possibility that pocketyhat is progressive.
Now, why do you think he is going to blame you? Maybe you know he is going to ālieā, because you are lying yourself?
I agree that Pocketyhatās behaviour is suspicious but I see no proof that he is radical.
1 in 3? Is it really that high? I was thinking more 1 in 10.
Iāll freely admit that Iām very bad at measuring probability, Iām just basing this on the first game where I remember the chances of 3 radicals coming around being very slim. Maybe that understanding is misguided. Iāll try and look for that post againā¦
If the probability really is that high, then yes, itās possible that Pockety may in fact be a progressive, and the premise of my entire argument is destroyed. We may both be unfortunate victims.
Yes, looks like I completely misinterpreted/misremembered said post in the last game. The probability is a lot higher than I thought.
Would suck if my incompetence here is cause for people to begin doubting me though. It is however understandable.
@cjlim2007 did a calculation for the probability. That applies if the first two governments told the truth about their draws.
I guess itās okay for now, since you explained your mistake. We will have to wait for @PocketyHatās statement to continue.
Now, do we want to follow through with our plan for the next president/chancellor? Itās @Pepeās turn now and his president would be @Seraphitic.
Okay, I think that might be where I messed up, I was thinking that PPP probability was for RRR or something.
I have returned. And woaaah there that was a really weird statement from @Aspirety, buut since he admitted that it was a mistake, I forgive him. Also, itās understandable why he might have suddenly jumped the I am a radical wagon, but Iāll mention that later.
Indeed I was given three radical policies, which I was actually unfortunately expecting, and I knew that no matter who I chose as a chancellor, it wouldnāt have mattered, which is why I rushed the election so that I could get the investigation power and get to the meat of things. So, me rushing was definitely not a mistake.
This doesnāt mean Iām completely out of suspicion, since I might have lied, and thatās completely understandable. And again, I donāt mind not being the president or the chancellor ever again.
āPockety-sama! Youāre forgetting to mention one more thing!!ā
Ah right. Ahem.
@Aspirety seems to have chosen the lesser of the two evils from the policies he drew, which is almost the same thing as choosing a progressive policy. Key word, almost.
How do I know this? Because I wrote the policies sent to Aspirety.
And so, on my end, thereās not much info to be gained here. All I have now is the investigation ability.
(Also, I just woke up, so sorry for weird phrasings here and there)
Huh, did I just get mindgamed?
Maybe.
I spent 15 minutes thinking up the perfect policies, appreciate my efforts damn it!!!
(jk jk, wanted to spread some light mood here)
Yeah this is more or less what I figured would happen. Ok now we are left with a couple options.
Option 1: @PocketyHat is lying - The chances are higher that our beloved Pockety drew a progressive policy along with two radical ones. Discarding a progressive policy now that the odds were fairly high of drawing three radical policies would be significantly less dangerous and extremely useful for the radical cause. All Pockety would have to say is that it was just the luck of the draw and there was nothing to be done.
Option 2: @PocketyHat is telling the truth - The odds are still pretty good that @PocketyHat could have drawn 3 radical policies. Nothing to say about this really. There wasnāt any choice so our leaders did what had to be done.
Option 3: @PocketyHat and @Aspirety are both lying - In this scenario both of our leaders are lying to us. The arguing and finger pointing is a game to mess with the good people on the council to confuse us and divide us. Any number of radical or progressive policies could have been drawn (except for 3 progressive obviously) because no matter what there was always going to be a radical policy enacted.
There is also the possibility that only @Aspirety is lying but why on earth would @PocketyHat go along with it? I feel like these are all the possibilities we have at the moment.
This is more likely than you might first think. Pock might be a progressive who drew PRR, discarded R but didnāt want to start a conflict with Aspi, because once you do that you can kiss your chances of being elected good bye. If Pock is playing for the fun of it and not necessarily for victory, then this is something that could happen.
And with how Pock has been acting, this could be a thing.
ā¦I honestly didnāt think of this. But it does sound of something Iād do if I wanted to think outside the box, which is not often, haha.
Also, āPockā sounds really silly. Call me Kip or something, thatās the nickname I go by.
Got it Hat.
