I see. Cause he’s incompetent, right?
A tall tale to just stomach like that. Last game you also pulled a strange detective claim out of nowhere. Was it really alright to just keep this secret for so long, useful or not?

Well, now after Kari’s reveal… I’m not quite sure how to answer you…
Given my sanity status I figured there may very well be another detective. I didn’t want to risk human team infighting over a supposedly ‘fake’ detective claim even if both are actually true. Also I do usually want to be able to present some results when I roleclaim detective, so since I do in fact have nothing rock-solid I was hesitant. If I’d flipped witch on investigation you bet I would’ve roleclaimed and accused EternalMagician immediately.
That logic puzzle nonesense from the Roulette game is back? For serious? Are you serious?
Okay, before I start believing this, I need to make certain. Nobody else is a detective? Just to make certain.
Okay, assuming Kari is telling the truth, it doesn’t change a whole lot other than the fact that he’s a human. I don’t feel comfortable enough trusting this particular ability to say it says anything about EternalMagician. If he’s lying, this is one of the riskier ways I’ve ever seen someone try to get out of getting lynched.
What’s the verdict my guys? Do we believe him? This seems like a stupidly risky lie but there’s not a lot I put past Kari so it’s…possible.
Also, where are @EternalMagician and @Doldod? Doldod, have you talked this phase?
So random sanity detective and lovers. A concerning lack of claims that actually help humans. ^^"
@karifean If I consider your claim, what do you think is most likely? I mean, I’m not asking about EternalMagician’s allegiance but rather your sanity. Like I’d actually kinda think that it’d be Umineko fitting if Battler was naive with arc2 in mind in particular…
I’ll note that Vyse was a ‘detective with a twist’ in at least two previous games. The blue truth game actually had him with a random sanity just like here, so that could have been inspiration. Of course Karifean might have taken that into account for his claim too.
I think regular sane detective is the most likely, unless we had another detective among us all along. Naive detectives are basically glorified vanilla players, so you’d think we’d have someone else who can actually produce results as well.
Assuming they are still alive if it’s the case… -sigh-
I’m honestly surprised tho, I admit myself I’d have a really hard time to act the same way should I be on the bad side and you’ve seen me playing twice now, but still you also never saw me play on the bad side and I’ve been attacking you since day one and you trust me? I guess in a way it’s a sheer testament of my incompetence perhaps…
Well I’d still like everyone to cast their votes simply in order to have a reduced list because we have to chose someone, but to have no one pushing for the vital vote on anyone if it leads to this… I guess that’s a very naive way of thinking tho…
Well if you insist I’ll just put this down for now. Not that I trust Karifean but no matter what’s true there it doesn’t really clear this other suspect.
Vote: SleepingPliskin
I’ll be choosing Kari, only because I don’t know if he’s actually telling the truth, and claiming to be a detective seems really risky (or dumb). Idk, also @Blackrune, may I ask why I’m your choice?
Okay, this game had been becoming more and more confusing already but I hadn’t expected the game to turn into such a clusterf*ck. Ugh Don’t make me get a headache like Natsuhi.
Alright, I think the biggest question is whether or not Karifean is telling the truth, and I’m willing to believe in him, at least for the moment.
So right now I’m leaning towards voting for someone else this night and then Kari if that doesn’t give any results.
I did talk at the start of the phase, but most of the activity happened while I was asleep, heh.
Well, this is a confusing game, I’m starting to miss write-ups which gave humans information to go on every day. I would be surprised if neither Karifean nor SleepingPliskin is a witch, so I guess I need to choose one of them again. I was suspecting Karifean at the start of the phase but now I want to give him benefit of the doubt for one night to see if he can give us any information. Of course, if he really is a detective it’s possible he dies this night anyway, heh.
Vote: SleepingPliskin
Mostly process of elimination. I read Usagi as human, as well as Doldod+Sapphire. (the fact they voted for different people now sort of makes me more confident?)
Karifean and Eternalmagician don’t appear to both be a team.
That only leaves you or thesorceress.
My only worry right now is that if the humans split their votes 2-2 then if there are three witches they could easily push one vote through unless both are right.
Sapphire votes Karifean
UsagiTenpura votes Karifean
Blackrune votes SleepingPliskin
Doldod votes SleepingPliskin
Karifean (2): Sapphire, UsagiTenpura
SleepingPliskin (2): Blackrune, Doldod
With 8 players, the majority lynch is at 5. The phase ends at 22:15 UTC on the 16th of July, so in 10 hours and 45 minutes.
Since it seems to stand between Karifean and SleepingPliskin this time and I’d like to give Kari the benefit of a doubt a little while I’ll also add my vote:
Vote: SleepingPliskin
@Doldod @EternalMagician @Blackrune
You know I’m somewhat tempted, on a first level, to try SleepingPliskin option.
But when I really think about it, it’s a really bad choice.
Well, make what you will out of it.
The main reason is that I am having a really hard time to see who would be their “allies”.
Blackrune : Was called suspicious by pliskin, blackrune voted against him.
Doldod : Voted against him.
Sapphire : Most likely on the same side as doldod, who isn’t the side of Pliskin
EternalMagician : Voted against him.
(lesser certainty now)
thesorceress : Said the three suspicious people are EternalMagician/Karifean/Pliskin
Karifean : Pliskin says he trusted me due to mistrusting Karifean
usagitenpura : Pointed out he was suspicious, tho also an easy target, a while ago.
So my point is even if Pliskin turns out to be a witch I’m not really sure what else we’d learn from it. Well, actually now that I read this it sorta may look like I could be one of their allies if I look at it from an external pov.
Still from my own pov, I’m back at being confused heh… can it be that witches have switched to a “everyone on their own” mode?
It feels that there are plenty of people I can view as suspicious but when I try to think about them having allies it all falls apart…
For the matter, I’ll withdraw my vote right now because I’m having a hard time figuring out who Karifean’s allies would be (kinda everyone pointed out suspicions against him… but then again only Sapphire pushed that suspicion toward a vote… hmm). I’ll get back to this in a bit.

The distrust between Pliskin and Karifean mostly started as a thing today so it could have been them switching to ‘distance mode’ when they figured we might be getting close to being onto them.
Keep in mind that with three witches all humans would need to be on the same page to even manage a lynch today, so the fact only two people actually voted for Karifean so far actually makes me want to jump onto him after all.
If Pliskin was a witch it would at least suggest we might be on the right track here. Of course we’d still have to sort out who to trust between Karifean and Eternalmagician then.
…With EM voting for Pliskin rather than Karifean, well… also not sure if this is throwing a witch under the bus, though supposedly Karifean would be human if EM is the witch in that equation…

You know I’m getting ready to go in a corner and mourn the death of my favourite chair while humming nepnepnep to keep murderers away.
-_-
For now what I learned in this game (so far) :
-Eleventh hour claim to be a detective with potential sanity issues is a good way to save your ass, apparently.
-Claiming to be part of a couple sounds insanely risky but also ended up actually working. In fact if Sapphire/Doldod are witches I have little else to say than congradulation.
I’ll go eat breakfast and come back to this…
That’s… actually a good point… maybe we disregarded that a bit too early. Plus I just realized that there’s a pretty high probability of this being the last day we have a good chance to take down a witch. Because if there are 3 witches and we lynch a human today then we’re most likely down to 3 humans and 3 witches tomorrow, and that’s only if Sapphire and Doldod actually were lying about their ability, if not…
I’ll withdraw my vote until we’ve had a chance to discuss this further
