On the next morning, the remaining four noticed a terrible smell. They were trying to find out where it came from and eventually noticed that the cause seems to be in the boiler room. And indeed, in that room they found a burning corpse. Usually that would have meant that they couldn’t identify the person, but in this special case the corpse had 6 toes on both feet and thus everyone knew who died this night. To make matters worse, a stake was in the corpse’s ankle.

Not really. With Blackrune removed from the picture as a potential other suspect, Doldod cleared, and Sapphire tied to Doldod, there’s very little room for anything to still go haywire.

Your response to Doldod’s post made me think as much, yes, or that you tried to kill Sapphire and Blackrune died instead (hence “weird abilities”).

Also yeah I didn’t really think to question the results I got anymore.

I’m guessing they are something like “The third side, the real culprits, after all this is Umineko and the witches are just illusions, the real killers are humans” or something like that.

So basically having the killer on their side and being technically “human” they had no fear of revealing themselves cause investigation would’ve turned them human and having the killer they had nothing to fear.

I guess that makes sense with them asking for being investigated so often. Still dayum, that means you can just have a confirmed detective on your side as you murder everyone? Crazy.

And atop of that they had a copycat, the witches (the real ones) were just scapegoat/red herrings and if anyone beside you had abilities on the human side, they are long dead.

And so the four quickly decided that the only fully fletched adult had to be the culprit. That adult pressed the trigger himself all too quickly, ending his life. Later that night, the foolish youth realized that he was wrong in his final moments, when he was killed by his cousin.
