I had to get modkilled because in a talk with picto I learned of the true nature of his claim. Having played dual Mafia games before which also had the humans win by quite a large margin I figured the best way to resolve things would be to have me eliminated.

Shame though, I probably would’ve had fun trying to piece things together, if picto let me live that is =P

Pre-Game - The Secret of the Island

The First Twilight

An older woman traveled the ruins of the battlefield they had found themselves in, and were so taken in by the mysteries of the island that they didn’t notice the clinking of the armour worn by the one following them, noting their moves. Wonderlander is Investigated by BunnyAdvocate. They would learn he was Human Aligned if not for the murder later in the night. As such, they received no results.

A cheerful young man was accompanied by one even younger, the latter keeping watch over the former to ensure their safety. Nothing of note came their way, so the pair chatted away into the night. akafa123 protects thesorceress.

The soldier stood at the shore, staring out at the moon reflected in the water. His thoughts of what memories of home he was allowed to keep here, he waited silently on the sands of the beach. A man watched him from a distance away, and after consideration, took hold of his blade and dashed forward at the man. The soldier, in his experience, heard the approach and took his great weapon in hand. As he spun around to face his attacker, the reflection of the moonlight off the culprit’s blade caught his eyes, and he faltered as a dark memory assaulted his mind. Before his focus returned to the fight, his attacker was gone and spilt blood was all that was left with him. Alone in the silence, he turned back to the ocean and on his knees, closed his eyes. SleepingPliskin is killed by the Crimson Team, represented here by Blackrune.

Much work done, the older woman decided she was satisfied with what she’d seen and decided to head back to where the group would convene. However, a flash before her eyes shot past through the darkness, and curved to piece towards her. Laughing to herself, she shot off a few spells in an instant, but the assailant tore through them with magic of his own. In a clash of blinding light, the man took into the dark and threw himself forward at her, and while the bursts of energy shook his armour to the limit, he held fast and felt his weapon pierce flesh. When the dust settled, however, he found a cheaply made doll of his target stuck to the end of the blade. Looking around, he heard a laugh in the distance… and then she was gone, never to return. Wonderlander is killed by pictoshark for the Azure Team.

The Second Twilight

A knight loomed hidden in the shadows of the night, watching over his prey from a distance. The young woman seemed quiet and often seeked solace alone, and the knight had watched the timid girl walk here on the night before as well. Finding the moment her back was turned, he leapt down upon her and sped his blade towards her heart. The girl felt the dark presence approach her, but hesitated in fear of the shadows too long, and before she could react with her powerful magics, blood already dripped down the blade pierced through her heart. The corpse slowly melted away into flakes of ash, and drifted off towards the horizon. pictoshark, acting again for the Azure Team, kills UsagiTenpura.

A serious older woman intended to find time to herself, tired of the lunacy of her situation, but was stalked by the child in armour. He intended to discover where her allegiances truly were, and once he had a grasp on what he wanted, he sped off without a trace. BunnyAdvocate investigates VyseGolbez, and discovers that they are Azure Aligned

At the shore of the island, a young man stood in the waters he loved. Intending for a moment of reflection, sounds behind him took his attention back to the strange land he was stuck in. He took a ball in hand, and went to aim for the source of the noise, but a violet blur shot out of the bushes and straight at him. The young man was skilled; agile movement was his lifeblood, but in an instant as he soared back in the air he was stunned to see the blur strike faster. Cuts covered his body, and the man fell into the ocean bleeding. As he pondered what this insane world was, the last thing he saw was the moon above the shimmering waves. EternalMagician steps up to represent the Crimson Team, and kills King_Titanite_XV.

akafa123 did not act this phase.

The Third Twilight

Two of the younger members of the group traveled together that night; one wearing full armour, and one wearing barely any at all. The latter was keeping an eye on the former, but nothing had approached them all night. Rather, the armoured child pursued a grumpy man who was doing his best to not have to talk to them. When the pair caught up, he mumbled a few things until the armoured child was satisfied with what he learnt, and the three of them split up for the night. akafa123 protects BunnyAdvocate, who investigates Zepfur, and learns that they’re Human Aligned.

The female soldier, on the other side of the island, was using her full training to pursue a target. The young entertainer was starting to gain her attention, and she decided he was no longer someone she wanted around. The woman found the man, who turned around and faced her. The woman pulled out her weapon, ready to shoot, but the boy threw a blade into the air and caught it in a way that would destroy himself and then something went wrong. VyseGolbez, now the Azure Killer, attempts to murder EternalMagician and remove the Crimson Team. However, EternalMagician decides to kill himself, which activates the clause in their abilities that both teams choosing the same target lets that person survive, and lives on to the next day.

And with that, ladies and gentlemen, Game VII draws to a close. Thank you all for welcoming me back to the role of Game Master, and playing along with my little narrative. I’ll see you all again in the future.

For the meantime however, we must say a temporary goodbye. All large-scale Gameboards, like Mafia, will now be put on hold until the conclusion of the Higanbana Bookclub! Please let myself and @Aspirety know if participation in this game caused any conflicts or hold-ups if you were also planning to read and participate in that, we need that data for the future.

The reason we didn’t go after obviously-azure picto is that we concluded that we needed him around to accelerate the human demise.
We figured they’d expect the Crimson witches to go after them, so we figured that by defending picto they’d shoot for other people. With them spoiling half the twist of the gameboard right away post we also thought the humans were in too good a position for us to go after Azures that soon. Killing the detective/protector had priority. (not that we guessed well there)
Also would have made for a good distraction, but alas, then I was spontaneously killed in my sleep.

Also take note how everyone who voted Zepfur on the second day except King was a witch. It was truly the most magical of lynch trains.

Honestly, I have to give props to both Witch Teams for how adaptable and clever they were with the setup they were given, because they both defied my expectations immensely.

@pictoshark in particular, even though it was a massive mistake on his part, had the most incredible recovery with spinning the idea that their team was an Ally Third-Party and the other team were the “real” villains. The idea that someone could even do that never occured to me while planning the match, and I’m legitimately super impressed by how well he did with it.

And even though @EternalMagician was the one to pull it off, both teams realized the potential of using the kill negation rule as a way to save themselves.

So, really, well done. You may have lost but you performed amazingly with the tools you were given.

I mean it doesn’t feel that unusual for picto to pull stunts like that so I wasn’t really that surprised to see it. Thought he was trying to figure out who we were through reactions or something.
I never considered it might just have been a mistake.
